The Nudest Nude

So recently, I have been noticing a craze for nude shoes. They have been in the form of flats, sandals, and heels too. This style has been very similar to the neutrals trend that I noted on for Spring '10. A shoe that is nude matches practically everything and makes the leg look longer and leaner by matching the skin tone of the leg.
These first two shoes are both caged sandal heels that are very trendy and can be worn with many different outfits. They are by the designers Miu Miu and Christian Louboutin.

Here is a flat version of the trend by Tod's:

And to conclude, here is a beautiful nude gladiator sandal by Michael Kors.

Alexander Wang's Take on Spring

For Alexander Wang, spring was about American sportswear (as always). This season was all about his timeless and classic American pieces that were injected with elements of sports, camping, and uniform.
This first look from Wang's spring collection is a new take on the classic track pant. Wang cleverly transformed the bland and shapeless track pant into a sexy, slinky, formfitting dress.

This next outfit is based off of the All-American sweatshirt. It looks like a sweatshirt is tied around the shoulders also. What a neat design!

And now, my favorite, here we have another beautiful corset dress. Wang has made quite a few of these, and even from online images these look marvelous.

If you're looking for a more affordable option with the same design quality, then you're in luck! Wang happens to make a line called T by Alexander Wang, in which only T shirts are sold. But these shirts are very fashionable and have been featured in many magazines. Here is an example of a trendy jumper designed by this line.

Budget-Friendly Trend Watching

Recently, I was searching H&M's website when I stumbled across a computer program called Fashion Studio in which one gets to pick out of an assortment of clothes and accessories to make an outfit. This program has fashions for both women and men (so that all you not-so-single-ladies can go pick out an outfit for your man). You can choose your model, clothes, shoes, purses, and accessories too. I based my two looks off of two upcoming trends, the new LBD and sequins.
The three letters "LBD" now stand for "Little Blue Dress" rather than "Little Black Dress." I have taken a liking for the new LBD; we need more cheeriness and peppiness in a time of sorrow and regret. This bright blue color in the dress below does just the job! I also think that the blazer is spot on with the broad-shouldered trend. But there are also many other ways to interpret this trend.

A great trend that has been blossoming for a while is all about the sparkly sequins. There are many different ways you can wear sequins. As shown in the images below, sparkles can be worn on bags, blazers, and miniskirts. This shiny trend is worn mainly for evening though. However, clothes and accessories adorned with sequins are very fun and bring a bright, party mood to the room.

It's Almost Bikini Season!

It's time to get in shape again after a long winter. And start buying those cute swimsuits! You deserve to look good! I will present to you some of my favorite picks that I saw on saks.com. Note that string bikinis aren't always the most flattering bathing suit on a woman's body, so I did not include them in this list.
Here is a nice one-piece in a great graphic print. This swimsuit is designed by Diane Von Furstenberg.

Another bathing suit that is suitable for all bodies is this bikini from Emilio Pucci. This is a great bikini for girls who are larger on top because there is more material on the top of the bikini.

This Milly bikini is similar to the Emilio Pucci one that was pictured above.

Here is a very luxurious Oscar De La Renta look. However, it is very pricey.

Lenny's one-shoulder swimsuit is a great buy that will flatter all body types... very chic also. The back of the bathing suit is amazing! It is so unexpected!

Marc by Marc Jacobs makes a cute, flirtatious bikini that is best suited for girls with a smaller bust. The ruffles at the top bring attention to the top half of your body and make your chest seem fuller. But the ruffles that are included on the bikini bottom to help balance out the whole bikini.

And finally for the cover-up- Missoni makes some beautifully crafted pieces of clothing. Missoni's tunic is very classic but with a twist. The colors are on trend with the neutrals. And this style of tunic is also very flattering. I have a dress similar to this cover-up, and it looks great on the body!

Herve Leger... What A Dress!

Herve Leger dresses are simply masterpieces in the form of evening wear. And if you've got the body to pull it off, I would definitely go for it. They have quite a hefty price tag but are worth every cent if the dress molds well to the body.
This first dress happens to be a very nice shade of turquoise, which is after all the official color of 2010.

This next dress follows the cutout/peekaboo trend of spring that has been seen on the runways last fall. A dress such as this example is a great party or club dress.

Finally, this Herve Leger looker would be a wonderful dress for a garden party or any less formal party or event.

Oh Christian, You Work Wonders!

Louboutins have always had a special place in my fashion fantasies. A set of these marvelous stilettos has been on my wish list for a while, but I have never had quite the budget to afford a pair.
So I will present to you a couple Louboutins that I have been dying for.
Booties have been very trendy for the past couple of seasons, and they are a very workable piece. A bootie like this is very classic and can be worn with mostly everything: from jeans to a cute miniskirt.

And a bootie such as this is following the militaristic trend more.

Here is one pair that I am absolutely in love with; although, I'm not sure what it would match.

And one last pair of beautiful heels- these are very classic but in a fun color.

The Beauty and Originality of a Corset

Lately, I have been in love with corsets. But I can't help it; they are just so breathtaking and well-crafted.
I recently sewed a corset for my fashion show last spring, so I can relate to all the pain and labor that goes into making one of these beauties. Making my corset cost me over nine hours of my time. And it is not easy business either, with all the boning work and small sewing details that go into it. No wonder they are so expensive!
Anyway, lately I have seen some fabulous corsets online and on celebs. I have seen, on celebrities such as Demi Lovato and Paris Hilton, a beautiful nude and black corset dress. It is a very modern take on the corset. This Alexander Wang dress is the first picture below. (Alexander Wang happens to be another one of my favorite designers.)
On the Internet, I saw a very pretty, feminine, lace overlay corset made by D&G. This designer has been known to make some wonderful corsets that have been worn by many movie stars. I particularly remember Scarlett Johansson wearing a lovely nude-colored corset dress on the red carpet.

Trends for Spring 2010

Some of the hottest trends on the runways last fall in NYC were denim, sparkles, and neutral.
Denim was a major trend this spring! I found two articles based solely on the denim trend- one in the February issue of Teen Vogue and another spread in the January issue of W magazine. Below are pictures from these magazine spreads illustrating this new trend.
Sparkles are a great clothing embellishment to be worn at parties. They can be worn on leggings, blazers, skirts, dresses, and vests too. It's a great DIY project to glue them on textured tights- so cute!
I was surprised this year that there were not many prints. I normally love wearing bright floral prints in the springtime. But neutrals were a hit for this spring, whether they be muted blues, snow whites, or fleshy nudes.

My First Blog... Ever!

Wow! I can't believe I finally have the time to create my very own blog. Because of my adoration of anything fashion, I have decided to base my blog off of that-fashion!
I have loved and enjoyed the beauty of fashion for many years, and I hope to go to fashion design school in order to join many successful leaders in the Fashion Industry. I just thought I would take some time to share with you the aspects of fashion that I enjoy most.My favorite magazine is Teen Vogue. But I also have a subscription to Vogue.

I love the designers Rodarte and Marchesa. Their work is simply stunning.

Also, I took fashion design classes for four years, which has helped my drawing abilities substantially (at least with clothing).
